Don't bother with boxed gravy. This is top notch!
Firehouse Cream Gravy
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Servings: 6-8
Ingredients
3 tbs bacon grease
1/3 cup of flour
3 cups whole milk
Salt, pepper, and Tony’s to taste
Directions
I start out by cooking bacon in the skillet I’m going to be making the gravy in. I remove the bacon but leave about 3 tbs of the grease.
Whisk in flour over medium heat. Continue to whisk flour until it is smooth and browned.
Add in milk and continuously whisk. Increase heat to medium high. While continuing to whisk, bring to a simmer. Season with salt, pepper, and Tony Chachere’s. Continue to cook until gravy is thickened to liking. Remove from heat and enjoy!
