Texas Trash Mix

I make this every Christmas for the station and at home. Freezable if needed, and guaranteed to get better as the days go on!

Texas Trash Mix

Prep time: 15-20 minutes

Cook time: 4 hours

Servings: 15-20

Ingredients

  • 5 tbs Tony Chachere’s original seasoning

  • 1 tbs garlic powder

  • 1 tbs onion powder

  • 4 sticks of butter melted

  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil

  • 4 tbs Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tbs tobasco hot sauce

  • 8 cups corn Chex mix

  • 8 cups rice Chex mix

  • 8 cups wheat Chex mix

  • 8 cups pecan halves

  • 16 oz can peanuts

  • 6.6 oz bag of gold fish cheddar

  • 6.6 oz bag of gold fish pretzels

  • Three 13x9 foil roasting pans

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees F. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, oil, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and seasonings. Stir to combine.

  2. In the three roasting pans, combine cereals, nuts, and goldfish. Stir to combine. It all won’t fit in one pan so spread them out amongst the three pans.

  3. Pour butter and seasoning mixture over each pan. I poured a little bit, then shook it up, poured a little more, and then shook it up again.

  4. Bake for 4 hours, shaking it every 30 minutes. Enjoy! The flavors really set in over night and is better the next day!
