These are my favorite burgers I’ve ever made! The flavor from the burgers paired with the bacon jam and garlic aioli is perfect! Find the recipe below and put it on the table.

Juicy Lucy burgers

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 40 minutes

Servings: 6-8

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 lbs 80/20 ground beef

  • 1 lb of cheddar or Colby Jack cheese

  • 1.5 lb bacon

  • 1 yellow onion diced

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 bulb of garlic

  • 1 1/2 cup mayo

  • Juice from 1/2 lemon

  • Buns

Instructions:

  1. Light charcoal in grill.

  2. Cut off top of garlic clove. Drizzle with olive oil and wrap in foil. Bake in oven at 400 degrees for about 45 minutes.

  3. While garlic is roasting, dice bacon and brown in a skillet. Once it is about halfway done, add diced onion and continue to cook until bacon is crispy. Drain grease. Lower heat to low. Add in brown sugar and stir to combine. Add in water and stir to combine. Continue to cook and stir occasionally until water has reduced, about 10-15 minutes.

  4. it’s time to assemble the burger patties. Make a thin bottom patty and place some cheese in it. Place another thin patty on top and pinch edges to form one patty. Season patties to taste.

  5. Place burger patties on grill. Grill over coals until done to liking.

  6. While burgers are cooking, take garlic out of foil and squeeze cloves out of skin. Combine in bowl with mayo and lemon juice. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Stir to combine.

  7. Assemble burgers and enjoy!
