Flat top steaks with compound butter
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 20-25 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
4 steaks of choice
1 stick of butter softened
Juice from 1 lemon
1 tbs fresh chopped parsley
I tbs fresh chopped chives
1 tbs Dijon mustard
1 tsp minced garlic
Pinch of salt and pepper
Kosher salt
Fresh cracked pepper
Avocado oil
Instructions:
Start off by making the compound butter so it can rest in the fridge. Combine butter, lemon juice, herbs, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and salt and pepper in a mixing bowl. Stir to combine. Transfer to some saran wrap. Roll it up and twist ends. Place in fridge.
Coat steaks in avocado oil and liberally season with salt and pepper.
Preheat flat top to high heat.
I used the 2-2-1-1 method to cook my steaks that were 1” thick. Meaning, cook on the first side for 2 minutes and then flip. Cook on the other side for 2 minutes and then flip. Cook for 1 minute and then flip. Put some slices of compound butter down on the steak and cook for 1 more minute.
Remove steaks and let rest. Slice and enjoy!
