Filets with a red wine reduction
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes
Servings: 3
Ingredients:
3 filets (or steak of choice)
1 cup red wine
1 cup beef broth
4 tbs butter
2 sprigs of thyme
1 sprig of rosemary
1 yellow onion sliced
8 oz sliced baby Bella mushrooms
2 tbs minced garlic
Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to season steaks.
Instructions:
coat steaks with oil and season to taste with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Preheat grill to high heat.
Place steaks on grill and reduce heat to medium high. Cook for about 2-3 minutes and rotate 90 degrees to get even grill marks and even cooking. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes and then flip.
While steaks cook, place cast iron skillet on grill and add butter to skillet. Add onions and mushroom and season with salt and pepper. Sauté until browned. Once they are done add in minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme. Continue to cook for another minute or so.
By this time the steaks should be done. Remove from grill, cover with foil, and let rest.
Deglaze skillet with beef broth. Bring to a simmer and reduce by about half.
Add red wine to skillet. Bring to simmer and reduce by about half. Remove from grill.
Slice steaks and serve red wine reduction sauce over the top. Enjoy!
