Take your steaks up a notch with this easy compound butter recipe. I elected to use elk steaks because that's what I had on hand, but feel free to use the filet of your choice.

Bacon Wrapped Steaks with Compound Butter
Ingredients
4 filets or steaks or choice
Thin sliced bacon (if using filets)
1 stick butter
1 bulb of garlic
Juice from 1 lemon
1 tbs Dijon mustard
1 tbs fresh chopped chives
1 tbs fresh chopped parsley
Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder
Directions
Season steaks with salt, pepper, and garlic. Wrap in bacon and secure with a tooth pick. Let rest in the fridge.
Light charcoal grill. Cut off the top of a bulb of garlic. Place on a sheet of foil and drizzle olive oil over the top. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Wrap up in foil and place on grill. Cook for about 30-45 minutes or until the cloves are softened.
Place steaks on grills away from coals to begin slow cooking.
Combine butter, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and fresh herbs in a mixing bowl. Squeeze out the cloves of garlic. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Stir everything to combine.
Once steaks reach about 115 degrees F internal remove from grill. Place more coals on grill if needed or increase heat to high.
Place steaks back on grill and sear each side for a couple minutes. Remove and let rest. Top with the compound butter and enjoy!
